Freeport Coworks Grand Opening
On Thursday September 19th we had our soft opening of Freeport Coworks, located just a block away from the LIRR. We had a nice turnout with about 25 people coming through. We served wine and apps, gave a business productivity seminar, and networked with other local small businesses. This soft opening featured our first set of 8 new offices (6 of which have been rented), conference room, hourly private office, and co-working space.

Five Key Strategies to Take You and Your Business to the Next Level. Some key takeaways from this workshop were to:
- Focus on one thing at a time. Multitasking is a lie. If you do more than one thing at a time you have to split your 100% focus into chunks. Doing one thing at a time allows you to invest your full time and potential in that one thing so that the quality will be high.

Conference Room$25/hour
Two conference rooms available that can accommodate up to 8 and is $25 per hour. Check the calendar below to view availability and book online with a credit card.
Daily Desk$30/Day
Booking a daily desk gives you access all day from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm on the day of your reservation. You are welcome to meet with one guest or client at a time in the open workspace.
Hourly Private Office$75/day or $20/hour
This private suite features a small couch, 2 side chairs, desk/chair. There is a waiting area outside. book by the hour for client meetings or as a private workspace for the day.
Virtual OfficeStarting at $99/month
This monthly membership is billed automatically monthly & includes directory listing, mailing address & use of the conference room. Have the legitimacy of a real business address without the cost of an entire office.

Todays world in all industries seems to more more subscription based then ever before - whether its Blue Apron, Netflix, Bark Box, Stitch Fix. Amazon Prime and countless others, these monthly costs can add up, especially for entrepreneurs putting together the perfect suite for all the tools they need to run their businesses. AppSumo is a sight that gives you lifetime deals (typically a one time payment of $49-$80) on apps that have a monthly subscription price, therefore saving you up to 95% in some cases. I have bought lifetime deals from 2 of the apps listed below, as well as apps that help with lead generation, graphic design tools and more. Recommended Apps - Appointment Booking
Booking apps are a great way to stay organized and synchronize your schedule with all your different calendars. They allow your customers and clients to easily make an appointment with you without all the back and forth emails and phone calls - you can embed the calendars or booking buttons directly on your website for customers to see your availability and automatically book appointments with you. I use these bookings apps in a slightly different way, not to book with myself but for my members to book the various conference rooms and office spaces. Some calendars I use internally for full time tenants and others for clients wishing to book hourly where they can pay upfront. I spent a lot of time researching and testing out probably around 50 different apps. Below is an analysis and comparison of two of my favorites, Bookafy and Appointlet. The criteria that is most important to me is affordability, ease of use, calendar synching ability, modern look and feel, and calendar embed on my website. Some of the other great features that would be useful to small business owners include integrating with zoom meetings, url redirect, zapier integrations and more. I have provided a breakdown below of all the key features.

Free - $11/month
Bookafy is one of the most affordable options on the market, with pricing starting at $7/per month, as well as a free version with basic scheduling features. Most comparable competitors on the market are between $20 - $50 per month. It offers all the features I was looking for - website embed, takes payment through stripe, nice looking easy to navigate calendar on users end, gmail sync. If you have clients who have a tendency to forget appointments, the text feature is a great part of the premium plan at $11/month, which is still a bargain compared to many other apps. The customer service is also great - they are very responsive to questions.

Free - $8/month
Appointlet is another affordable booking tool. The free version has a lot to offer with it allowing calendar integration, which many free versions do not offer. Their paid $8 plan allows you to take payment through stripe, as well as fully customize your automated responses. The $8 plan is similar to Bookafy's $7 plan, but I prefer Bookafy because it is more user friendly and can be embedded in your website, therefor making it a real part of the experience of visiting your site as opposed to being taken off your site to book the appointment through a book now button.
